JLOS Hands Over Kiruhura Justice Centre

Kiruhura Justice Centre, located in Kiruhura District is complete and ready for occupation after it was handed over to stakeholders by the Justice, Law and Order Sector (JLOS) on May 24 2016. Presiding over the ceremony was the Senior Technical Advisor at the JLOS Secretariat Ms. Rachel Odoi-Musoke and the Head of Court Infrastructure Eng. Dr. Ebal Christopher who also coordinates infrastructure projects in the Police and the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP). Also present was were Kiruhura district local leaders that included the Resident District Commissioner (RDC), the LC5 Chairperson, the Chief Administrative Officer and officials from JLOS institutions in the district such as the DPP, Police and the Judiciary.
Kiruhura Justice Centre is a three-in-one complex of buildings housing the Judiciary (Magistrates Court), the office of the Resident State Attorney (DPP) and Kiruhura Police Station. The purpose of these buildings is in line with JLOS' avowed mission of improving access to JLOS services by having front line JLOS institutions located in close proximity. This cuts back on the lead times for processing cases and reduces on the distance clients have to travel to access services in these institutions.
The contractor for this project was Hotel Zawadi, a local construction company that completed this project in a record 7 months (from a projected 12 months). During the handover ceremony, management and technical wing of Hotel Zawadi were commended for their hardwork, professionalism and expertise.
